One of Brighton’s longer running club nights, De Puta Madre, has grown from a daytime gathering at the Setting Sun pub in the middle of town, to a free, all day and night free seafront party attracting upwards of 3000 people, with leading names in house and techno music.
Penguin Media Hire were tasked with providing a system to cover the additional outdoor sound reinforcement, as well as to replace the usual installed DJ monitoring system the club would normally use. For the first party of the year, Mattthias Tanzmann requested a high powered monitoring rig, which was more than satisfied when we deployed a pair of Martin Audio WS18X subwoofers with a pair of Martin Audio XD15 full range speakers. This was powered using one our Powersoft K Series DSP racks, with a potential power output of 17000 watts. Of course, all of this power wasn’t used, but you can never have too much headroom where quality audio is concerned….
